Dear Travel Partner

Its been a whirlwind first quarter with sales trips into India, the Nordics, Italy, Germany and South East Asia. As we head into the flurry of shows in Cape Town and Durban we would like to take a moment to wish everyone a Happy Easter and wishes for safe travels if you are taking a break over the upcoming long weekends. We start off with our own stand at WTM this year Stand number P45 please pop in if you are visiting the show. ILTM, We are Africa and then Indaba Stand number ICCP21.

Travel to Southern Africa is a popular choice right now and we are seeing a great deal of new enterprise and access options such as the direct connection between Cape Town and Pilansberg, and Cape Town and Victoria Falls. The big event featured below is of course the arrival of the first International flight by Ethiopian Airlines at the new airport in Victoria Falls. We are over the moon with this as it sets the scene for a new hub in Southern Africa.

Also see our new Heli Panorama experience at Khaya Ndlovu featured below – what a win!

Tourism Player Welcomes First New International Airline Into Victoria Falls

The launch of Ethiopian Airlines’ new route into Zimbabwe’s top resort town has been hailed as “a significant catalyst for tourism growth in Zimbabwe and across the region” by industry leader Ross Kennedy.

Ethiopian Airlines became the first international airline to launch flights into the new Victoria Falls International Airport, which opened last November, when its Boeing 737 touched down just after midday on Sunday. Mr Kennedy was director of ceremonies at the event.

The African heavyweight will fly to Victoria Falls from Addis Ababa four times a week, enabling tourists from major cities in the Americas, Europe, Asia and Africa to enjoy hassle-free connections via Addis Ababa.

“For example, American tourists can now fly from Washington to Victoria Falls with a less than two-hour stopover in Addis Ababa,” Mr Kennedy, Africa Albida Tourism (AAT) chief executive, said.

Other exciting news for Victoria Falls is that on May 1 Kenya Airways will launch direct flights from Nairobi to Victoria Falls and on to Cape Town; on July 2 SA Airlink will launch direct flights between Cape Town
and Victoria Falls six days a week.

Here’s to another Easter in Africa, safe travels
